Women in STEM !
On February 11th, we celebrated Women in STEM Day, by gathering a handful of women on our team for a group photo with Stanley, our team mascot!
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, focusing on fields that are crucial for solving global challenges and driving innovation. Women in STEM emphasizes the importance of encouraging more women to pursue careers in these areas, which have traditionally been male dominated. By supporting and recognizing women in STEM, we help create a more inclusive and innovative environment.
Celebrating Women in STEM Day gave us the chance to appreciate the talent, dedication, and hard work they bring to our team and to the field as a whole. We also shared the celebration on social media to highlight the significance of Women in STEM and recognize our team members.
Additionally, we sent out a questionnaire to the members on our team, asking about their experiences in STEM and what keeps them inspired. As the University is putting together an article with their insights, which you can find on our website and USW’s platforms.

We’re on YouTube !
We've recently launched a YouTube channel and are documenting our journey as we work towards getting our first car to Silverstone. This documentary will give an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the challenges, successes, and dedication of our team.
You’ll be able to watch it soon on our YouTube channel, where we’ll also be sharing regular updates, team member introductions, and progress videos. Make sure you also follow us on our other socials.
Exciting New Partnership !
We’re happy to share our new partnership with Process Development Engineering! This collaboration is a huge step for us, bringing additional support, expertise, and progress in turning our design into reality and getting it to Silverstone.
The design team has also been working on several issues, especially around the fabrication and technical aspects. One key challenge highlighted by PDE Limited was ensuring that our design could be manufactured efficiently while maintaining the necessary strength and precision. They helped us refine our materials selection and adjust some of our initial specifications to ensure everything could be produced within the constraints of both time and budget. With limited resources, managing costs has been crucial, and PDE’s guidance has been invaluable in making sure we stay on track financially without compromising on quality.
Thanks to their expertise, we’ve been able to address these concerns and move forward with confidence, ensuring that the final product will meet both our performance and safety standards.
Securing the RS fund !
We’re thrilled to announce that our team has secured the RS Build Fund, marking an exciting milestone in our journey. RS is committed to supporting the next generation of engineers through the Formula Student Build Fund, offering teams around the world the opportunity to enhance their practical engineering skills with £1000 worth of products from RS. This year, RS is celebrating its 4th year as a partner of the IMechE Formula Student competition, a event that challenges university teams to design, build, and race a single-seater race car from scratch. This year, RS received 65 applications from 25 countries, and we’re proud to be one of the winners!
The RS Build Fund is vital in helping us push the boundaries of automotive engineering. With this funding, we can access high-quality materials, perfect our car’s design, and tackle the challenges of building and testing our vehicle. RS’s support not only provides crucial financial assistance but also helps us bring our ambitious ideas to life. This funding will play a key role as we continue working towards getting our car ready for the track and gaining valuable real-world experience. We’re excited to move forward with the help of the RS Build Fund and look forward to showcasing our progress in the competition!
