Applicant Day

March 1st was a big day for us at USW Racing—we hosted our University Applicant Day! It was great welcoming future students and giving them a feel for student life at USWApplicant Days are specifically for those who've got an offer, so they can check out the facilities, chat with staff and current students, and see exactly what studying here is like.

Our racing simulator was very popular, giving visitors a chance behind the wheel and test their racing skills. We had a friendly competition running throughout the day, with visitors aiming for the best lap times. Our workshop and garage were fully open too, giving everyone a look into where we are constructing the car and rebuilt the engine. Visitors got to see he detailed work and dedication our team puts into designing, building, and refining our race cars. Our F24 car was on display, with demonstrations happening regularly, allowing people to get up close, ask questions, and see exactly how it all works.

We also celebrated St David’s Day, with the team dressing up to showcase our Welsh pride. As the only Formula Student team from the South Wales Valleys, it was a great chance to highlight the enthusiasm and commitment that defines USW racing.

We've been busy expanding our blog on our website. our latest post highlights women in STEM and motorsport. It's an area we're passionate about, and we're proud to emphasize the importance of diversity and inclusion in engineering. We are looking forward to sharing more stories like this soon.
